Vodice is a town and a popular tourist destination in the Šibenik-Knin county in Croatia. Vodice has less than 9,000 inhabitants and is situated in a wide bay, 11 km northwest of Šibenik. It was first mentioned in the 15th century, although it was established long ago in Roman times as Arausa. Vodice fields in the hinterland of the town are rich in water and fertile soil, so the town was named after these rich sources of water. In the past residents were growing mostly olives, vines, and Marasca cherry. Today they are increasingly turning to tourism and providing tourist services.
